Prime Minister Donald Tusk spoke on Wednesday about the security of Poland and Europe. He said that in the strategic perspective, Europe is the target of Russia, and it will attack if it is stronger.

The Polish Press Agency quoted Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk, who said that in the strategic perspective, Europe is a potential target of Russia. The invasion will take place if the Kremlin has a military advantage. Thus, in order to protect the European and Polish borders, Europe as a whole must be stronger than the potential aggressor.

According to the Prime Minister at the next meeting of the Security Committee, the main topic will be to increase border security. Tusk highlighted air defence as a key aspect. He also pointed out that the strengthening of the eastern flank with the help of Poland’s allies will be discussed.

“We have already prepared such an initiative with Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, an appeal to take into account the needs of the European arms industry in order to support Ukraine as soon as possible, not only because almost the entire Russian economy has already switched to a military weapons system and Europe is far behind,” the Prime Minister said.

The Prime Minister specified that through diplomacy it is necessary to mobilize all the countries of the European Union to realize that without increasing the military effort, the EU will lag behind Russia. Thus, according to Tusk, Europe will be exposed to an attack.

“The absolute necessity of the moment in connection with the Ukrainian situation is that Europe, as a whole, must be stronger militarily than Russia, and this is the only way to secure the European and Polish borders,” the Prime Minister said at the conference.
