Rafał Trzaskowski is running in Poland’s upcoming presidential elections. He talked to BiznesAlert.pl about his vision for Poland’s energy policy, which could include nuclear energy. „We should not rule it out,” he said. He also announced he would publish a presidential plan for Poland’s Energy Policy until 2050.

„Energy policy is to a large extent dependant on the government. The president’s role is to offer support wherever it is needed,” – says Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, Civic Coalition’s candidate in the 2020 presidential elections in Poland. In her opinion the state-run parts of the energy sector should become professional and non-partisan as quickly as possible.

„Poland was one of the first countries to propose an initiative to sustain investments in and supply of renewable energy sources in Europe. We want to take action to maintain the supply chain for the wind and PV sectors impacted by the coronavirus epidemic,” Poland’s Climate Minister Michał Kurtyka said in an interview with BiznesAlert.pl.

„Every crisis is also an opportunity – an opportunity to start things from scratch, in a different and more courageous way. We, including Poland, should seize this moment – for instance in the energy sector – argues professor Jerzy Buzek, Poland’s former PM and member of the European Parliament Committee on Industry, Research and Energy.
