On 22th of October Piotr Naimski, the plenipotentiary for strategic energy infrastructure, signed on behalf of Poland a 30-year agreement with the United States on civil nuclear power cooperation. The American side’s financial and technical proposal on the construction of Poland’s first nuclear power plant will be revealed in 18 months.

According to BiznesAlert.pl information Poland is to sign a cooperation agreement with USA concerning nuclear power plants to be built in Pomerania region.

On the anniversary of the Bolshevik Revolution, the 7th of November, an official opening ceremony of the nuclear power plant in Belarus’s Ostrovets was to take place. The facility may become one of the elements of the transaction that Alexander Lukashenko had to agree on after receiving political and economic support from Russia.

Ongoing discussion on nuclear programme in Poland did not bring conclusions yet. In spite of speculations about American involvement, ministry of climate states that no technological partner was chosen and mentions France.
