Radomski: Too early to celebrate SMRs from the US in Poland

The American NuScale has received certification for a small 50 MW nuclear reactor. However, this does not yet mean a breakthrough for 77 MW, which Poland’s KGHM is counting on. Unresolved problems may return on a larger scale and take months – or years – to resolve – warns Daniel Radomski, contributor to BiznesAlert.pl.

NuScale is leading Europe to small reactors

Small modular reactors could redefine nuclear power. Reportedly the most important features of this solution include reliability, safety and protection of resources. America’s NuScale wants to lead Europe on a quest to build small NPPs – writes Jędrzej Stachura, editor at BiznesAlert.pl.

SMRs at KGHM and Orlen – state of play

SMR, or small modular reactors, can be a response to the needs of Polish large enterprises that have a serious demand for electricity. PKN Orlen, which is transforming from an oil company towards a multi-energy one, and KGHM, which is the second largest energy consumer in Poland, see this technology as a way to reduce […]

A perfect Polish energy mix does (not) exist

An energy mix is defined as a power generation production structure in a given country. In the era of energy transition and climate policy, we should move away from high-carbon fuels as soon as possible and focus on low- and zero-emission sources. When considering options for generation capacity, Poland should choose what is best for […]
